NEW GUIDEBOOK TO DERWENT VALLEY HERITAGE WAY (08/12/03)
Just in time for Christmas!
The Duke of Devonshire opened the Derwent Valley Heritage Way in April of this year. It has proved very popular with walkers, no doubt helped by the summer weather. Jarrolds have just published a new guidebook which describes the route in detail from Ladybower Reservoir to Shardlow. It was written by Kevin Borman and includes maps, how to get access by public transport and details of the highlights along the route. The route is broken down into sections that can be tackled a day at a time if you don’t want to walk the whole 60 miles at one go. Copies should be appearing in local bookshops in the next couple of weeks, priced at £11.99.
The guidebook contains details of how to obtain a certificate and badge on completion of the route. Details are available by clicking here .
Brian Waters, Chair of the Trust said “ Why not put it on your list for Santa or treat yourself and plan next year’s walks during the dark evenings? Just in time for New Year’s resolutions!
When you have finished the walk, apply for your certificate and badge; profits from this go towards helping the Trust promote sustainable use of the Derwent Valley and its surrounding area”.
